An environmental and interior project for Økende — a Swedish inspired speciality coffee shop in West Bridgford, Nottingham.
02problem
Økende purchased an old florist shop with the intention of creating a space that reflected their Swedish name’s meaning, ‘increase’ - by enhancing their customers’ experience of savouring exceptional speciality coffee and quality food.
They approached Boyes Design for help in creating a relaxed and open setting for customers that would communicate the vision behind their brand.

Its beautiful design and ambience has led to Økende quickly becoming one of Nottingham’s most frequented and personable coffee shops.
To ensure the space remained open yet comfortable, we crafted bespoke stools, chairs, and tables out of high-quality European oak, with its light colour complimenting the custom-designed lighting installations. These combine to create a laidback atmosphere where conversation flows and community flourishes.
